Ruby is a trendy language ; Ruby On Rails is a powerful framework and its simplicity is guaranteed. Sometimes accused of slowness and of a lack of optimization, RoR remains the most powerful tool for building prototype web applications. Even though we still prefer PHP for maintenance reasons, RoR is quite useful to quickly develop small applications or back ends for Flash web sites.

RoR simplifies the life of the developer as it offers simple programming patterns : Form validation, data base connection, internationalization, MVC. As an example, the MVC implementation remains the best of all the other frameworks (Zend, Cake, Copix, CodeIgniter…).

The principal tool that we use every day to manage our projects was written in RoR, and we customized it with many plug-ins. The maintenance of a code is simple, the understanding quick.

The construction of persistent state machines is very intuitive and it enables the writing of complex Web applications without building a Rube Glodberg machine.
